Weekly Update Part - II

Image
With a flurry of events and unplanned holidays, this week went by quite quickly. Due to the Plus-One seat controversy, the Kerala Students Union (KSU) declared a state-wide education bandh on June 25, Tuesday, providing students with an unplanned respite. The school observed Anti-Drug Day on Wednesday, June 26, with a number of noteworthy events planned by the JRC cadets and NCC. The day started with an oath against drug use and went on to include talks in Malayalam, Hindi, English, and dance performances, as well as song and poem recitals. Gowri Krishna, an NCC Cadet, was awarded a certificate for her outstanding performance during the 43 kids from our school that attended the NCC Training camp held in Ooty. Weekly Update Part - I

The First Week of Practice Teaching came to an end today. We have been treated to a variety of experiences from Day 1 (10/06/2024) to Day 6 (15/06/2024), including the customary first-time anxiety, times when we felt a bit disoriented, and happily, some sincere delight. Being assigned to IX D was extremely good for me, and the daily assemblies were a terrific chance to engage with the entire school. The shift has gone considerably more smoothly because of the sense of familiarity and collaboration that has developed from our previous interactions with them in the previous phase. I finished the "Half a Day" lesson today and began the textual exercises.

Phase II in the Training Journey

The start of my second school training period was yesterday. I was assigned to class IX D after meeting with the concerned instructors when I arrived at the school premises at 9:30 a.m. Although there are a few new faces in the class, I am gradually getting to know their names because I taught these students in VIII F last year, so I found it simple to break the ice. I gave a brief introduction to the unit "Hours and Years," which tackles the idea of time's interconnection. The famous Egyptian author Naguib Mahfouz's lesson "Half a Day" was the next thing we tackled. We carried on studying this subject today. The days at the school have been interesting and fruitful overall.
