It's a wrap!
We were supposed to finish our teaching practice today, but the district magistrate decided to give the Pathanamthitta district a vacation because of the severe rains that had created significant damage. Thus, yesterday was the last day of instruction. This unanticipated shift has given us the opportunity to evaluate the second phase of our teaching practice, which has included a great deal of physical and mental strain. This phase has been particularly difficult in addition to the continuing midterm exams, for which I still need to evaluate a few more answer sheets. Looking back, despite the challenges, it has been a worthwhile experience that has provided development and insights.
As we get to the end of our teaching practicum, it is evident that, although I do not find leaving the school to be a very painful experience, it is still bittersweet. Letting go of the kids who have impacted my life in unexpected ways is the real struggle. It has been a difficult trip because of their unselfish love and steadfast support, thus it is difficult to say goodbye.
